Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Understudy (the “Service”), a product built by Captive Demand (“we,” “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

Understudy generates branded, narrated product demo videos from a URL or an uploaded screen recording. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time.

Accounts

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

Your content and responsibilities

You retain ownership of the URLs, recordings, brand assets, and other content you submit. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit that content and to create demos of the pages or applications you provide, and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right. You are solely responsible for the content you create with the Service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by capturing content you are not authorized to access, infringing intellectual property, attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or using it for unlawful purposes.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software and branding, is owned by Captive Demand and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (including Clerk, Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, and ElevenLabs). Your use may be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Captive Demand will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
